Description:
‘All these high technologies, digital reproduction, jpeg algorithms, data compression, broadband, direct imaging onto ultra-gloss photographic paper, all these rich systems of contemporary image processing, these sleek, sixteen-valve twenty-first century vehicles of mirror-chrome and lycra, cultural transit and circulation. So imagine a quiet, dusty truck-stop where these machines pull up for a breather. Dimitris Foutris’ image combinations hotwire the vehicles in the car park, and spin a handbrake turn over from the zenith of painterly grandeur, to the epitome of juvenile non-creativity – the Spirograph.’
